3. Affiliate Links and Partnerships

Jerni participates in affiliate marketing programs with travel booking platforms, including but not limited to hotel booking services, flight aggregators, and activity providers. This means:

  • When we recommend or link to third-party travel services (hotels, flights, activities), those links may be affiliate links.
  • If you make a purchase through an affiliate link, Jerni may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
  • Affiliate relationships do not influence the AI-generated recommendations in your itineraries. Our recommendations are based on your preferences, travel style, and destination data.
  • We clearly label or distinguish sponsored content from organic recommendations where applicable.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:

  • With your consent: When you publish a trip as an "Adventure," its content becomes visible to other users.
  • Trip collaborators: If you invite others to a trip, they can see that trip's data.
  • Service providers: We use third-party services for hosting (Vercel), database management, AI processing, mapping (Google Maps), and analytics. These providers only access data necessary to perform their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.
  • Affiliate partners: When you click an affiliate link, the partner may receive referral data (e.g., that you came from Jerni). They do not receive your Jerni account data or trip details.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and trip data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, resolving disputes).

Anonymous, aggregated data (e.g., popular destinations, usage statistics) may be retained indefinitely.

6. Cookies

We use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential cookies: Required for authentication and core functionality. These cannot be disabled.
